Tied to my book, Mushroom: A Global History, this blog covers news and updates in the world’s literature on mushrooms. I am not a mycologist, just a cook and writer who wants to know more about how mushrooms came to be hated in some cultures and worshiped in others.

Truth be told, mushroom fans have published a lot of cookbooks over the years. One of the best ones was Jane Grigson’s The Mushroom Feast, which appeared in the dark ages of 1975. Happily reprinted in 2008, by Grub Street, Grigson’s book is quite remarkable in its scope. The exquisite line drawings make the book doubly intriguing. Do give it a go if you can. Read more HERE.
